About the University	The Ljubljana Faculty of Law, established in 1919, is one of the founding faculties of the University of Ljubljana and the largest law faculty in Slovenia. On 15 April 1920, the first dean of the Faculty, Professor Leonid Pitamic, marked the beginning of the Faculty's teaching and research activities with an inaugural lecture entitled "Law and Revolution". Ever since, the Faculty has offered its students an intellectually exciting learning environment with high academic standards at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, promoting both legal knowledge and critical thought. Through the years, the Faculty of Law remained committed to its mission to provide its students with the best possible legal education so as to prepare them for all the traditional legal professions. Today, it is not only the oldest but also the largest and - by any measure - the best law faculty in Slovenia. Located in a renovated building complex at the very centre of the city of Ljubljana, the Faculty boasts a large teaching staff working in nine departments, six further associated research institutes and the most extensive law library in the region. We are proud of the fact that our graduates go on to assume important positions in our society and shape the Slovenian legal system and practice, but we also nurture our international outlook and reputation. This is shown not only in the European, comparative and international focus embodied in our study programmes, but also in the high mobility of our students and teaching staff, frequent visiting lecturers and other distinguished guests, successful participation in international student competitions and a growing portfolio of international conferences and similar events taking place at the Faculty.

Extra requirements	You would need to provide a proof of your English proficiency: an equivalent to a CEFR level B2 at the moment of application and C1 at the moment of departure. Students from the English taught LLB and LLM programme are exempt from this requirement.
Important information	winter semester: lectures: beginning of October - mid of January examinations: end of January and March; summer semester: lectures: beginning of February - mid of May examinations: end of May, June and September.

Financial support / Grants	More information on study and placement grants for law students can be found at the website www.rug.nl/law/lep. An Erasmus+ grant covers part of the travel and accommodation expenses involved in studying abroad. At the moment the Erasmus+ grant has been set at € 330 - € 390 per calendar month, depending on the country of your host university. This may change per academic year. Your application for an exchange period at one of the Faculty's partner universities also counts as your application for a grant. When you receive notification of a place for study abroad, you will also learn more about the Erasmus grant
